Monarch Arts: Tamara Noori’s Journey to Fostering and Nurturing Creativity

Monarch Arts was founded by Tamara Noori and opened its doors on January 1, 2020, with the goal of nurturing a lively and inclusive community through art. Drawing from over 30 years of teaching experience, Tamara’s evolution from an art hobbyist to a professional artist inspired her to establish a space where individuals could explore their creativity and express themselves through various art forms.

Her extensive background as an art teacher served as the catalyst for Monarch Arts.  What started as a hobby later became her profession and passion. Throughout her career, she taught at different institutions and conducted numerous classes, which led her to realize the constraints of working for others. This realization fueled her vision for a space where she could provide more opportunities for people to engage with art.

“The inspiration came when I decided it was high time for me to do something for myself and the community,” she says.

Building a Vision: Community and Creativity

Tamara’s vision for Monarch Arts is to nurture creativity, especially among children in today’s technology-driven world. She observed that children often lack exposure to artistic expression due to busy schedules and a focus on academics. Monarch Arts aims to provide a space for children to relax and explore their creativity away from these pressures. Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Monarch Arts has thrived, reopening in July 2020 after a brief closure.

Additionally, Monarch Arts strives to build a diverse community of art enthusiasts. Tamara takes pride in the eagerness of her students, who look forward to their art classes. With a teaching background at prestigious institutions like the Abu Dhabi Cultural Authority and the High College of Technology, she brings extensive experience and dedication to fostering a vibrant artistic community where everyone can express themselves creatively.

Inspiring Success Against All Odds

Starting and running Monarch Arts has come with its share of challenges. The studio’s location limits visibility and advertising opportunities, relying heavily on social media and word-of-mouth referrals to attract students. Financial constraints also pose difficulties, as Tamara is the sole proprietor funding the studio. Despite these hurdles, Monarch Arts has persevered.

A particularly memorable success story involves a student from the US who had never painted before and lacked confidence due to discouraging remarks from her peers. Through Tamara’s encouragement and guidance, this student completed her first painting, experiencing a newfound sense of achievement.

This transformative impact on her students drives Tamara and brings her immense satisfaction. She also focuses on promoting emerging artists, helping them showcase and sell their work. Many of her students have gone on to succeed in art markets and galleries in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and internationally. Seeing her students sell their work and progress in their artistic journeys is a source of great pride for Tamara.

The Future Of Monarch Arts

Looking ahead, Tamara has high hopes for Monarch Arts. Over the next five years, she plans to expand the studio, hire more teachers, and introduce new art mediums. She also aims to find a better location and increase visibility, potentially expanding to other cities like Dubai and Sharjah. “We are growing every day, and I can see that,” Tamara says. Her ultimate goal is to establish Monarch Arts as a well-known brand and continue fostering a community where creativity thrives.

In summary, Monarch Arts is a testament to the transformative power of art. Through her dedication and passion, Tamara Noori has created a sanctuary for artistic expression and community building. With its strong foundation and clear vision, Monarch Arts is poised for a bright and creative future.
