For many of us, the day doesn’t begin until we take a sip of our favorite tea, soaking in its aroma as this magical beverage goes about energizing our body and mind. Since tea is such an indispensable part of our everyday lives, we ought to be careful about its quality and health benefits.
Let’s talk about Vedic Teas, a Canada-based, family-run premium tea brand established about 25 years ago but brought only recently to the Middle East by Aastha Kapoor, as an extension of her family business.
Being a B2B distributor in UAE has opened up a deluge of opportunities for Vedic Teas. The brand aims to build a classic tea experience by inspiring people to celebrate life and build togetherness within their community.
A fresh start in a foreign shore
Vedic Teas was set up a long time back in Canada by Aastha’s family and over the years, it has grown to become one of the most trusted tea brands. Aastha decided to take her family brand forward by launching it in a foreign land where everything had to be built from scratch. After completing her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Biotechnology, she did an MBA and worked in the corporate sector for a few years. At the age of 32, she joined her family business.
Aastha came to UAE in 2018 and in 2021, she launched Vedic Teas here. From company establishment, getting clients to setting up the supply chain, it was one crazy ride that was made fun and rewarding with ample support and guidance from family & friends.
The journey has been rewarding and super exciting so far. The owner explains “Within the first few months of starting my business, I was pregnant with my first child. It was one interesting ride where I had to set up everything, right from logistics to business to sales. As momentum picked up, I was on a maternity break. Team Vedic Teas did a stellar job of maintaining the business while I was away.”
Now in 2023, business is back in full swing alongside plans of expansion in terms of product portfolio, team size, and geographical locations. Aastha points out “Back in Canada, we have 350+ blends. In the UAE we have 15 but soon we’ll launch all portfolios here as well.”
Savor the sweetness of summer with a cup of Vedic Teas
Vedic Teas is a tea connoisseur specializing in handcrafted tea and committed to sourcing the best of tea, herbs and spices from all over the world. In fact, the tea and its ingredients are picked from the world’s finest gardens. The recipes are created in-house and are blended in Canada.
Don’t miss out on some of its flagship products, such as the richly-flavored Jasmine Pearls tea, the soothing Turmeric Lemon Balm tea, and Rooibos which comes in two more flavors – choco-mint and vanilla. Check out the anti-bloating tea called RooTrio, a root trio of Ginger, Turmeric and Licorice. It is recommended by dietitians as it helps with soothing the digestive system.
Vedic Teas uses all natural ingredients, devoid of any artificial flavors. These full-leaf teas are ethically sourced and are fair-trade certified. What’s more, the brand cares, not just about its profits, but also for the environment. The tea bags and packaging are 100% biodegradable and made from PLA (Derived from Corn-starch). “We work very closely with our suppliers to avoid waste packaging”, confirms Aastha. Moreover, pyramid-shaped tea bags offer ample room for leaves to unfurl while brewing. The premium nature of the tea ensures flavor remains constant across multiple cups.
Veering into a new horizon
Aastha is pretty clear about her company’s immediate goals. “I want to make Vedic Teas a brand that’s preferred by all food distributors across Middle East. Besides product portfolio expansion, I want to enter into the premium luxury brand space.”
The goal is to create a unique product portfolio with refreshing and sumptuous flavors. Astha is confident of setting up a store in the next few years. “Yes, the plans are big but so is my support system and my faith in God. I’m sure with God’s blessing and support I will accomplish that.” says
the gutsy entrepreneur before signing off.
