Organic skincare, supercharged with ingredients: A Holistic Approach to Sustainable Skincare

Healthy and glowing skin is a reflection of our physical and mental well-being. Thus, skincare should follow a holistic approach whereby you make a conscious decision to transform your diet, lifestyle and daily skincare regimen to nourish, heal and rejuvenate your skin. But it’s difficult to make the right choices when you’re bombarded with skincare products laden with toxic chemicals.

Launched on 20th September 2010. Shirley Conlon Organics brings to you a range of handmade, sustainable and chemical-free skincare to make you feel beautiful every day. The brand aims to keep skincare simple and affordable using vegan ingredients and recycled glass packaging. These products are made with utmost respect for your skin and environment.

When nature is your inspiration

Having grown up on a small farm amidst nature, Shirley is all about simplicity and keeping it organic. She firmly believes what cannot be eaten/consumed, should not be applied to your skin. Her 30-year-long stint as a cosmetic chemist gave Shirley ample exposure to the industry and its ways. Packed with harmful chemicals, most of the skincare ingredients are made with little consideration for the climate and the environment you’re living in, thus wreaking havoc on the skin.

Shirley explains “I wanted to create beautiful products that would be locally made, fresh and devoid of phototoxic ingredients or essential oils that sensitize your skin. Basically, the intent was to create skincare products infused with goodness of nature and precision of science.” Thus, Shirley Conlon Organics was born. The products are gentle on the skin and can protect and help your skin from free radicals in extreme temperatures.

Making your skin happy and environment happier

SCO, as Shirley calls it, is an organic luxury skincare brand that strives to be a simplistic, organic, and conscious beauty brand, helping people feel consciously beautiful inside and out, while using their products. Here you get flawless complexion with SCO’s super charged serums, handmade in Dubai. These are must-haves for dry, acne-prone as well as aging skin.

Its brightening serum, made with a stable form of Vitamin C, prevents damage from free radicals that can occur throughout the day and vegan collagen increases elasticity, allowing the skin to endure daily stress. Made from Bakuchiol, a plant-based Vitamin-A antioxidant, SCO’S night repair serum stimulates skin cell turnover, smoothes fine lines and wrinkles, and improves skin tone and texture, giving your skin a luminous glow.

Try out Rosewater Hydrating Spritz, a facial mist with 2-in-1 formula that gives your skin a quick moisture boost while acting as a toner after cleansing.

What makes Shirley Conlon Organics unique is its emphasis on manufacturing products in small fresh batches every month.

The startup offers its services both online and offline, with products being shipped worldwide. Interestingly, the brand that Shirley created and nurtured all through these 13 years, is still loved and cherished by customers who believed in the brand since day one. As Shirley proudly says “Anyone who started as our customer 13 years ago is still our customer today. So, we’ve maintained our customer base even amidst so much unpredictability and cut-throat competition.” To be chosen again and again by customers is indeed a great feeling.

Journey so far & ahead into the future

Conlon Organics has worked its way up to become one of the most trusted skincare brands, creating awareness about sustainable skin products. Moreover, since the pandemic raised the conscious level of consumers, toxic skincare chemicals have become a big no-no for many. This has ensured a steep increase in the brand’s sales during Covid and has remained so ever since. When asked about the future roadmap, Shirley says “I would like to see a global expansion wherein my products would be available in different targeted areas. The focus currently is to increase the sales, not the product line.”
